W-1002	テーブル オン ザ ルーフ
主要用途:
多目的スペース	老朽化したホテルをリノベーションして東京・目黒にオープンしたホテル「クラ
所在/会場:	スカ」の屋上計画である。この屋上に上がると、視線をさえぎる建物もなく、遥
東京 目黒 ホテル クラスカ屋上	か遠くまで見渡せる。見下ろすと車もビルもミニチュアのように見える。その屋
敷地面積: -	上空間に、眺めの良さを生かして、さまざまなイベントに対応できる外部空間が
延床面積: 240m2	求められ、ウッドデッキ材を敷くことがアイデアとしてあった。ただ、床全面に
規模: -	デッキを張るだけでは、後にテーブルやイスが必要になってくる。また、床面が
構造: -	少し上がることから、既存の手すりよりも高い手すりが必要となってしまう。
構造設計:-
設備設計:マックスレイ	そこで、外周の既存の手すりからセットバックさせ、イスとテーブルの中間的な
施工:コスモスモア、IKEYA	扱いとして床面から550ｍｍ浮かせた巨大な「テーブル」を提案した。

施工期間:2004.07-2004.09	このテーブルは、縁側のような床であり、椅子であり、舞台でもある。上部には、

	巨大なテーブルというアイデアが、既成のスケール感を狂わせ、非日常的なオン
	ザ ルーフ（屋上空間）を演出する。

W-1002	TABLE ON THE ROOF
PRINCIPAL USE:	An old hotel was renovated and reopened as CLASKA in Meguro, Tokyo
EVENT SPACE	September 2003.This project was to redesign the roof of this hotel.
BUILDING SITE:	On the roof of CLASKA there is nothing to interrupt our view, the
HOTEL CLASKA MEGURO TOKYO	surrounding city looks like a miniature world of buses, houses and
SITE AREA:-	buildings.We were asked to design a new space which takes advantage of
TOTAL FLOOR AREA:240m2	this view.CLASKA there is nothing to interrupt our view, the surrounding
NUMBER OF STORIES:-	city looks like a miniature world of buses, houses and buildings.The
STRUCTURE:-	concrete floor we were asked to cover with wooden decking as the space
STRUCTURAL DESIGN:-	would be used for various events. If we covered the entire ground with
FACILITY DESIGN:MAXRAY	decking we would then need to highten the existing handrail because of
CONSTRUCTION:	safety laws. We would then also need to consider appropriate tables and
COSMOS MORE,IKEYA	chairs for outdoor entertaining.
DESIGN PERIOD:
2004.06-2004.08	Therefore our proposal was to make a huge table floating 55cm off the
CONSTRUCTION PERIOD:	ground from decking, set inat a safe enough distance from the roof’s
2004.07-2004.09	edge which would avoid the handrail having to be adjusted.
DURATION:-
PHOTO:	The table serves as floor like "engawa"a chair and a stage. Above the
Nobuaki Nakagawa,	table plants now entwine the already existing structure and create a
Tsunejiro Watanabe,	green roof which runs down the wall and frames the entrance to this
Shinkenchiku-sha	space.The frame of the existing handrail makes windows and we get the
	feeling we are looking out from inside.
	The huge table plays with our perception and makes us feel strange,
	we are in an unusual space on the roof at Hotel CLASKA.
